Lifting up our hearts daily

Psalm 121

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh even from the Lord: who hath made Heaven on earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: and he that keepeth thee will not sleep. Behold, he that keepeth Israel: shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord himself is thy keeper: The Lord is thy defence upon thy right hand; So that the sun shall not burn thee by day: neither the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: yes, it is even he that shall keep thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out, and thy coming in: from this time forth forever more.

"And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour." Eph 5:2

I love to smell good cooking, it's such a shame that I don't cook so well, but one thing I do cook good is my Mams 'home made soup' made with boiled ham, leek, turnip, carrots, ham stock cube and lentils and 2 potatoes diced up for good measure, it's so easy just boil the meat till half cooked and chuck everything in and simmer for around an hour or till you think it's ready. The smell from the soup is beautiful and makes you more than ready to enjoy it. When we walk with the Lord we should be asking Him to lead and guide us in our everyday life guiding us in all we do big or small that we may Glorify Him. When we apply this to our lives just as the soup has a sweet smell, so it is with the Lord when we do things just for Him, walking with Him daily, praying daily, reading His Word, all these things are a sweet savour to the Lord.

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever." 2 Peter 3:18

We all like to send our children to school knowing they are obtaining knowledge and learning things that will help them to achieve much for their future. This is very important to all mothers and Fathers that there children learn well. The most important knowledge a child could ever learn is that God Loves them so much He became flesh and died on the cross to save them, we as christian parents have a responsability to tell our children about Jesus Christ and how He died for their sins (and ours)

# A friend loveth at all times..." Proverbs 17:17 # "Faithful are the wounds of a friend..." Proverbs 27:6 # "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend." Proverbs 27:17

Isn't it lovely to have friends, I love to talk with my friends, we talk about all sorts, our families our hubbies our life in general, friends are good but we have a friend that sticks closer than a brother and that friend is Jesus ***What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a priviledge to carry everything to God in Prayer.*** Thank you Lord for being my friend.

Monday's child is fair of face, Tuesday's child is full of grace, Wednesday's child is full of woe, THURSDAY'S child has far to go. Friday's child is loving and giving, Saturday's child works hard for a living, But the child born on the Sabbath Day, Is fair and wise and good and gay.

A charming little nursery ryme, we know it's only made up but when I was small my Mam used to say it to us, when we asked her what was meant by the Thursdays thought she used to say that someday a child would grow up and go to far of lands to spread the Gospel, in other words become a missionary, my mam i think would have loved for one of her children to work for the Lord in a far off Land....that might not have happened but we can work for the Lord wherever we are, in our Home, School, Church, town or community. We don't need to go to far off places, the Gospel of Jesus needs to be told to our neighours to.

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 1 Peter 4:12-13(NKJV).

When Testing Comes

Sometimes you allow us Lord To go through times of testing And often, Lord, it may come to us After a time of blessing

You let those times we go through Be times of deeper work To teach us Lord to trust in you Even though we may hurt

We try so hard to understand Just what is going on And why we go through such a low When before we felt so strong

And when our bodies are in such pain And our minds are in the dark Why do doubts of your word, Lord Creep into our hearts?

We wonder where you are, O God In the midst of all our doubt And why you even allow such trials That seems to cloud you out

It often seems so hard for us To trust you in these times We want you to remove the pain In our bodies and our minds

And yes, O God, I know you heal And give us hope to believe in Then other times you allow us to Go through difficult seasons

But you know what’s best for us And you see the bigger picture You’re always there to walk with us Into a brighter, hope filled future
